Chișinău is often called the "City of White Stone" and stands as one of the greenest capitals in Europe. This 48-hour itinerary perfectly balances Soviet history, world-class wine culture, and modern local charm.

Day 1: The Heart of the Capital & Soviet Echoes
Your first day is dedicated to the civic center, where you will discover the main architectural landmarks and feel the pulse of the city.

Morning: History and Iconic Landmarks

The Triumphal Arch: Start your tour in the Great National Assembly Square. This is the city's "Point Zero" and the perfect spot for your first photos.
The Nativity Cathedral: Located right behind the Arch, this Orthodox cathedral offers a peaceful oasis and stunning neoclassical architecture.
Stephen the Great Park: Walk along the Alley of Classics, featuring busts of Romania's greatest literary figures, and admire the monument of Prince Stephen the Great.

Lunch: A Taste of Tradition

Recommendation: Head to La Plăcinte or Fuior Gourmet. You must try the plăcinte (traditional pastries filled with sheep cheese, potatoes, or sour cherries) and a hearty serving of mămăligă (polenta) with friptură (stew).

Afternoon: Culture and Panoramic Views

National Museum of History: Located on 31 August 1989 Street, it houses ancient treasures and impressive historical artifacts.
The Water Tower: A short walk will lead you to this historic monument, which offers a panoramic 360-degree view of the old city center.
Eternity Memorial Complex: An imposing monument dedicated to fallen heroes, easily recognized by its towering red rifle-shaped structures and the eternal flame.

Evening: Wine & Tasting

Dinner: Moldova is world-famous for its wines. Book a table at a cozy wine bar like Carpe Diem or Invino to sample local varieties like Rară Neagră or Fetească Regală, paired with artisanal cheese platters.

Day 2: Underground Wonders & Modern Life
On day two, we explore Moldova’s "liquid gold" and the city's most beautiful green spaces.

Morning: The Underground Kingdom (Cricova or Mileștii Mici)

The Experience: No visit to Chișinău is complete without a trip to the nearby wine cellars (about 20 minutes from the city).
Cricova: A literal underground city with streets stretching for kilometers, named after wine varieties. You’ll see the State Wine Collection and spectacular tasting halls.Tip: Book your tour at least 2-3 days in advance!

Lunch: Urban Vibes

Head back to the city for lunch on Eugen Doga Pedestrian Street. It’s the most vibrant area, packed with modern cafes and terraces like Coffee Molka or Panna Cotta.

Afternoon: Nature and Local Living
Dendrarium Park: One of the most well-maintained spots in the city, ideal for a long stroll among rose gardens and lakes.
Valea Morilor Park: Descend the famous Cascade Stairs (inspired by the Peterhof Palace) and walk around the lake. This is the locals' favorite spot for sunset views.

Evening: Farewell to Chișinău

Dinner: Try Propaganda Cafe for a retro-chic atmosphere or Zaxi for a luxury experience on a rooftop overlooking the city.
Nightlife: For a final drink, Bandit Brews offers local craft beer, while the Gastronomic Theater is the go-to hub for the city's trendy youth.

Quick Travel Tips:
Transportation: Use apps like Yandex Go or Letz for taxis. Public transport (trolleybus) is very affordable at 7 MDL per ride.
Payments: Cards are accepted almost everywhere, but keep some Moldovan Leu (MDL) for souvenirs or local markets.
Connectivity: Chișinău has some of the fastest internet in the world; most venues and central parks offer free high-speed Wi-Fi.
