The rental process reflects that same simplicity. There are a handful of local operators — Velomania, Velopoint, VeloJan, Renter — and most of the interaction happens directly. You call, send a message, agree on a time, and pick up the bike.

There is little automation, but also very little friction.

It feels informal, but efficient enough.

Availability tends to follow the seasons. In spring and summer, demand increases, but planning a day ahead is usually sufficient. It is not a system that runs on instant access, but it rarely feels difficult to navigate.

None of this makes Chișinău a cycling city in the conventional sense.

But it does make it a place where slower movement is rewarded.

And in that context, a bike becomes less a solution — and more a way of seeing.
